I couldn't pass up the sweet light going on in the front yard. So here is Miss Brittain with all of her messy hair, dirty face, slobber-soaked shirt, I-couldn't-be-cuter self. I still haven't done her 1 yr. old pics (and she's almost 15 months!). It's stressful to be on both sides of the camera on picture day so I keep putting it off, wanting everything to be perfect.
It turns out this is exactly how I want to remember her at this age.

So, so adorable!
I'm glad you shared.
And I miss you.
She is so cute. You have a Canon, right? What lens did you use for these?
She is Beautiful!! Inside and out.
Wait up--where's the mess? I see that her hair is a little disheveled, but other than that she looks perfect!
Jenny, these were shot with my
24-70 L 2.8 lens. I use that baby 99% of the time. There's a 50 mm prime lens (f1.4 I think) that runs about $60 that is super sharp and great for portraits/blurry background. I bought that to replace the crappy kit lens that came with my camera. Huge improvement in the pictures. Only drawback is you have to zoom with your feet and sometimes that is tricky when you're shooting kids. Anyway, a good place to start. Great lens for the money. Wow! That was way longer than I meant to go. Sorry!
You were so lucky to catch the light like that. She is beautiful!
She's glowing! But not really a mess! :) Found your blog through Blog Her. Very nice.
I need you to take Jake's 8 year b-day picture-seriously!!! I will be in touch! I love your photos...What a talent!
