Birth Photography

I am so back-logged. I've been dragging my camera around with us everywhere and shooting like crazy so I'll have lots of pictures to share eventually. In the meantime I just wanted to announce that I am now offering Birth Photography Sessions. I am soooooo excited! It's something I've been wanting to do for quite some time. Anyway, you can read the details at destineeblau.com.

I really, really wish that I had hired a professional photographer to document Chapel's birth. Especially since she is most likely our last. It almost, almost, makes me consider having another. (Just kidding, hon. I think.)

Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Have you ever considered having the birth of your baby photographed?

I know with my first baby I would never even have entertained the idea. It was just so intimate and personal. And then there is the whole issue of.. ahem, modesty. Yea. I think right about the time I reached 4cm is when all thoughts of modesty flew out the window. Now, four kids later and with the growing trend of birth photography, it makes me want to go back in time and capture those first moments.

Hey Dest,

I never thought about having someone take pictures of the boys when I had them...but now I think it would have been cool. Thank heavens Pat took tons of pictures right after the boys were born...so that is really all I have of their first hours in the world. Of course, Jakey's birth was a little more traumatic than Caleb's.

Wow--so Chapel may be the end of the Blau crew? :) She is SO adorable! I took a peek at her when I was at church on the 4th and she is precious! I think she looks like Mason a lot, (to me anyway). ;)

I totally know what you mean about modesty going out the window after the first! My Mom always told me that when I was growing up--(cuz I could never understand why she did certain things the way she did)--that when I had my own kids, I would understand. Well, she was right! :-P lol
Anyway, I am SO sorry I didn't come by, or call. :( Time went so fast and I felt like I was in a whirlwind everyday. Hopefully the next time I get back there, I can plan my time better...and just maybe get a longer trip in.
Love ya girlfriend!

I had a professional photographer - a woman that I felt very comfortable with - photograph the birth of my 4th baby. We have some awesome shots of moments that I couldn't possibly have remembered in my pain-hazed state. If you have another baby - do it - you will never, ever be sorry. Tina Fleetwood
