Yesterday I was cleaning the disaster which was my kitchen. It was still cluttered with Halloween paraphernalia (minus the good candy- that stuff is long gone!) including real pumpkins that we never got around to carving but the kids did enjoy painting. They were still on the counter top claiming most of the space, for no other reason than I had not taken any pictures and it was/is on my to do list. It occurred to me (13 days post Halloween) that the pumpkins could wait for pictures just as easily on the deck. Two were moved successfully. The third? Apparently that was the smell. When I tried to lift it, the bottom just gooped into my hand and ran all over the place. At least now I'm not feeling the pressure to clean out the fridge. It doesn't smell nearly as bad now that the pumpkin has been exiled from the kitchen.
I'd just give up on the pictures but it is the only evidence that Mason and Avery even celebrated Halloween this year. Well, if you don't count the extra squishy around my middle, a direct result of sneaking and eating part of their stash. What? I learned my lesson.
I did manage to throw Chapel's costume on a few days after Halloween to snap some pictures. Brittain thought it looked like fun and was happy to re-ladybug up. The older kids were not interested. Mason was a "little" Darth Vader, just like last year. Avery was a scary vampire. You'll just have to take my word for it.

I have zero photo evidence that halloween happened at my house. Mostly its because my camera is broken... It still works, but you have to hold the battery cover shut so that the batteries don't fall out while you're taking a picture and it's just more work. So I don't take pictures at all. Terrible system, I know. I'm getting myself a new camera for Christmas.
Love the pictures! Oh, and the other night, I watched an episode of the reality show "Hoarders" on netflix. One woman on the show hoarded food... she had three our four rotten pumpkins just sitting, or juicing, rather, around her house. They had been there for months. Nice, huh?
Oh so cute! Missing you guys for Thanksgiving. Hope you have a great one there! I am glad you didn't have to mop the floor for that smell and I am especially glad it wasn't round to of my silly brother milking the plants!Love you guys!
What great pictures! Brittain looks like a little ham. I wanted to see what a "midnight" vampire looked like!! since that is what Avery told me she was. Maybe Mason will be a darth vader every year...just like Eric was ALWAYS dracula...he just got bigger n bigger in each picture.
Wow, pretty nice article. Where can I get this RSS?

Too stinkin' cute Dest.
So sorry about your pumpkin smell. We had one last year that barely made it to Halloween. We carved it out and all and the thing was literally falling apart on my porch growing mold. I left it til Halloween, (was trying to at least) but the next morning I chucked that bad boy in the trash. I couldn't stand the mold and bugs it was attracting. (eww)
Miss you guys terribly! I'm amazed at how fast kids grow...esp my friends kids. :)
Say hey to Ryan for us!
