Four wheelers and robbers, Oh My!

Okay, so I've been writing alot about our bedtime "woes". Last night was a pretty good night, relatively speaking. Anyway, I had tucked Avery in and she started talking about what was scarier, wrecking on a 4-wheeler or a robber sneaking in and taking the kids. Not a good conversation before bed. She was too scared to sleep in her bed but I assured her we'd be right in the living room. Right before I was turning in for the night I did a final round to make sure everyone had blankets. Here's what I found:

Better him than us! I thought that was so sweet that she felt safe with her little brother. I just want to climb in and curl up with them! (Ha!)

Very cute. But it looks like Mason is being bumped out of his own bed.

I would totally be fine with my kids climbing in to each other's beds... I woke up at 5:40 this morning with two almost five year olds in my bed... one on each side. Ah well. Time and a season for all things... guess i'm not quite out of the kids in my bed season.

the picture is adorable.

I think a robber would be way scarier! I am old and I still think about that right before bed. :)

How sweet! I love those two!! We find Van in Clive's bed sometimes, and I think it's so sweet. What a gift to have a sibling you can curl up with :-) Speaking of siblings you can curl up with...did you read that awesome article about NieNie that CJane posted about? Heart-wrenching!

Thanks for the comments.
Lew, I loved that article. I thought it was so beautiful. The tears were flowing. That part about Nie needing lifelong care and help with her kids. That broke my heart. What a huge trial still ahead for her. I totally love cjane! Thanks for getting me hooked!

We have a strict no-sleeping-in-Mommy-and-Daddy's-bed rule, but somehow the twins keep coming up with reasons to snuggle in our bed, even for just a few minutes. I suspect that one of them may have even resorted to accidentally on purpose wetting the bed like a teaspoon of pee just to justify snuggling in our warm covers while we change the sheets. So now, the rule is that as long as the sun is up, they can come get in our bed, if we're still in it. I may have to change that rule next week when the sun starts coming up an hour earlier, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

Cute, cute kids! Probally to her wrecking on the 4 wheeler is way scarier because she KNOWS what that is like! Give em hugs from granny.

This reminds me of all of the times that my sisters would get in my bed with me. It is so funny how brothers and sisters can fight so much but when you see pictures like this it just makes you forget all of the fights!
