As a mom, I've learned...

A house with all wood(read laminate)flooring is not good for falling off couches or for learning to walk. But, for racing hotwheels!? They. Are. Awe-some! (Also great fun for sliding in your socks!)

Showers are optional.

Good girlfriends are vital.

So is diet coke.

Time outs are for moms.

How much love and patience my parents actually have for me.

To be grateful for my spouse and for the fact that I'm not doing this alone.

You have to let some things slide. (Knowing this does not make it easier-necessarily.)

Any occasion is a good excuse to make cookies.

To be a respector of sleep.

As a mom, I've learned what it means to love and be loved unconditionally. I've learned that when I give my heart away it can actually beat outside of my body. And thrive.

Well said.

BTW -- my mom was totally impressed with Ryan last night at the welfare meeting. I missed it, had a rehearsal -- wish I'd been there. Except not really.

Can't wait 'til GNO -- because good girlfriends really are vital!

Great post and so very true!!! How was your breakfast last Sat.? Kristen said it was wonderful. I would love to get the girls together. I think that I am starting to get sick though. The last couple of days of craziness are really catching up to me now that New Beginnings is over.

Inkmom, I cannot wait either!
Melissa, I totally missed the breakfast. I was so bummed! I cannot keep my days straight. I've been off all month. I think it's because I didn't get a calendar until the middle of the month so my December was up until then w/ just a little January box. That's my excuse anyway. I cannot wait to flip the calendar and hopefully start fresh! Can't wait to hear how New Beginnings went. I'm sure it was great! Hope you feel better soon! Probably I should have emailed this rather than post such a long reply here. Duh.

Those are some great things to learn from! I think that you need to write a book. You always have really fun things to read. We haven't had internet at my house so we have been out of the blogging world. I am very glad to have it back!
